• Arrive Early

    Please arrive at least 10 – 15 minutes early for class

  • Refrain from Eating

    Refrain from eating at least 1-2 hours before class

  • Hydrate Well

    Drink plenty of water before, during and after your practice

  • Medical Conditions

    Let your instructor know of any medical conditions, prior injuries, pregnancy, etc. BEFORE class

  • Keep it Quiet

    Please be considerate of your noise level and others in the studio. Some students prefer to meditate before class.

  • Leaving Early

    If you need to leave class early, please tell the instructor before class and exit quietly so you don’t disturb other students.

  • Practice Properly

    If you are unsure of a yoga posture or have any questions, please ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR.

  • Follow Directions

    Please follow the instructor’s practice or cueing. You are welcome to modify the poses as needed and where appropriate.

  • No Valuables

    Please leave valuables at home. NPY is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

  • Be Aware of Your Body

    If you feel any pain or are straining while doing yoga, please back off and take a break. Yoga is one of the most natural things you can do for your body and mind. It should be challenging, yet approachable. There may be times when you feel uncomfortable because you are moving in new and dynamic ways. Peeling away “stuff” that has accumulated within your body and mind over the years is a process.

    Facing these experiences, feeling them fully and breathing with awareness can create new and exciting opportunities for personal growth and transformation. Everyone is unique and has their own boundaries and abilities. Therefore, the key for a safe and fulfilling yoga practice is being gentle and aware!

  • Yoga Practice

    The more you practice yoga, the easier it gets for you to know your truth and what you need at any given moment. And that is why it’s called “yoga practice!”
