I’m not flexible enough for yoga?

If your not flexible, yoga is even more beneficial for you.  veryone is at a different level of flexibility and yoga is really great in releasing tension and tightness within the body that perhaps translates into a feeling of being “un-flexible.” Once you start practicing yoga, you will discover that flexibility is just one part of yoga. Very simply, if you can breathe, you can do yoga!

Which type of class should I take?

Start with an ALL LEVELS, or SLOW FLOW/RESTORATIVE class to learn the fundamentals of yoga and get used to the practice. After one or more classes, you may feel ready to try a HEATED POWER VINYASA class.

How do I create an account and/or pre-register for a class online?

You can create an account by clicking on the Schedule option at the the top of our website page. Then click the MY INFO tab and enter your information to create your personalized account. By creating an online account, you can reserve space in yoga classes and workshops, review your visit history and make purchases thus saving time every time you check-in at the studio. However, you are perfectly welcome to come to the studio to sign in directly.

Where can I park?

Plenty of street parking is available all around our studio: on Memorial Blvd, Bellevue Ave, William St, King St and Jones Streets (metered parking in effect on Memorial Blvd from May 1 – Nov 1).

Also, there is a parking lot at Bellevue Shopping Center which is adjacent to our studio. Businesses in that center will validate tickets for their customers. PLEASE read the signs at the entrance before parking in the lot!

How early should I arrive?

For your first class, please arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to class so you can  fill out a short contact form and waiver. * Students under 18 years of age will need a parent to sign the waiver and consent form before taking class.

What to wear?

Wear comfortable athletic clothes so you can move around easily and sweat.  Not too tight as you’ll be stretching and not too loose as you want to stay covered as you move around on your mat.

What to bring?

  • Towels – We recommend you bring at least one towel for class – especially for the POWER class because you will sweat!  We will have towels for sale in case you forget to bring one.
  • Water – It’s very important to come to class well hydrated.  We also recommend you drink water during and especially after class.  Trust your body and intuition. We will have water and coconut water for sale.
  • Yoga Mat – We have mats to rent for $1. Most students prefer to purchase and bring their own mats. We have mats for sale along with Yogitoes skidless towels which are great to use for heated yoga.

How often should I practice yoga?

Yoga is designed so you can practice every day. Realizing that each person is unique, we recommend that you make a beginning and build up your practice slowly. The longer you practice yoga, the more in touch you will become with your body and what is appropriate. You can also practice yoga at home or before/ after you engage in other forms of exercise like running, swimming and  lifting weights. We suggest you try different classes and teachers as well as other yoga studios to find out which styles of yoga resonate with you.
